"Jenny's Pennies - A Nantucket Tradition" by Peter Saverine and Bobbi Eggers (Hardcover Picture) When you sail past Brant Point Light on Nantucket, there is a tradition that if you toss a penny into the water, its luck will bring you back again. But what happens to all those pennies? Local resident Peter Saverine has written a delightful tale of mermaids collecting the shiny pennies and sharing them with their friends. The pennies are scattered over the island with the help of seagulls, seals, horseshoe crabs, and others, spreading the hope that absent friends will soon return. Bobbi Eggers' wonderful illustrations bring the tale to life.
